Goodbye Gemma by Noel Streatfeild
This is the last in the series so it was good to get it finished. This is also the one that confused me because one of the girls lives in the attic where she has space to practice her dancing. I didn't find out until years later that it was possible to have an attic you can stand up in. I just thought about the hideousness of the idea of living in our loft.

Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus
I read this partly because I wanted to know what all the fuss was about (I'm a few years late, I know) and because someone (I can't remember who) told me she came out a man in it. Basically the book is utter shite and spends 200-odd words saying that people should say what they mean. Nice work if you can get it, I suppose.

Wintersmith by Terry Pratchett
Yay! And not only because it's in hardback with big words, so gives me more centimetres. I really like Tiffany Aching and all the witches, with their different varieties of witching. I could really hear the Scottish accent in the Nac Mac Feegles in this one, don't remember if I did before.

Millennium Shock by Justin Richards
I didn't realise but this is a sequel to System Shock, which I enjoyed. I liked this one as well. It had Harry being an MI-5 agent and therefore really useful in a crisis, which we all knew he could be, if he just got over the shock of the TARDIS. The politics in it seems such a parody of what's going on now but it was written in 1999. Which only goes to show nothing changes, only the names.
