Doctor Who Christmas special

Spoilers, funnily enough...
I enjoyed it, apart from spending the last 45 mins needing the toilet. Kylie Minogue actually wasn't annoying, Clive Swift was great although looking slightly older and the Captain I recognised too. Although I'm sure I recognised the couple who had won the tickets.
I loved at the start with the alien culture that was so like ours, and Clive Swift's character's ideas of Earth. When they teleported down I couldn't work out for ages why the street looked so familiar until I realised that it was because it was Cardiff.
I loved the Queen and her knowing the Doctor. I was disappointed the Titanic didn't crash through Buckingham Palace though. Dad thought the Doctor would crash it into the ocean, I thought the sensible option would have been to put it in a stable orbit - or at the very least a decaying one, as long as it decayed slowly enough that it gave them time to sort the engines out. Clearly, that was far too sensible.
The trouble with Astrid inviting herself on board was that it was immediately obvious she'd die because we know Donna is the companion next year (and she looks great in the trailer!). I did like her using a box to kiss the Doctor - just like in the old Yellow Pages advert.
That midshipman's injury seemed to appear and disappear at will - or at least be randomly debilitating and not at all. And it didn't look like he'd done anything to it at any point except press his hand to it.
I was glad that the snow wasn't really snow because that's too corny and extremely unlikely this time of year. I have visions of Clive Swift's character's house being just like Hyacinth Bucket's...
