Wednesday 26th December 2007 12:33 pm
In the following fandoms: The Avengers, Spooks, Chalet School, 10 Things I Hate About You, Coupling, Midsomer Murders, Little Miss Sunshine, Vorkosigan series, Wonderfalls, Discworld, Blakes 7, Ugly Betty, Pushing Daisies, Quantum Leap.
First the ones that were written for me:
The Avengers
A Funeral for Mrs Peel - This is just like an episode and has just the right amount of everything. It had everything in it that I asked for, which I am amazed about.
Spooks
The Book of Ruth - This was an unexpected treat and such a lovely Harry/Ruth fic, with some fabulous description and a great way of reuniting them.
Chalet School
A Friend for the New Mistress at the Chalet School and Special Friends at the Chalet School - I'm putting these together because one follows on from the other. They're a nice look at new teacher Kathie and how she and Nancy become friends.
10 Things I Hate About You
Desdemona - A nice look at Kat and Bianca's lives after the film.
Coupling
Selected Memories from Patrick and Sally's Country Cottage - Amusing look at Sally and Patrick's life together and how country living isn't all it's cracked up to be.
Embraceable you - Sally pregnant, and exactly what you know she would be like.
The Gift Trap - This reads exactly like an episode, with Steve attempting to buy Susan a Christmas present.
Midsomer Murders
Midsomer Games - Just what you'd expect from an episode - the Barnaby family, Troy and Cully, a suspicious death and a little bit of silliness.
Little Miss Sunshine
a fucking conversation about whatever - A great look into Dwayne's head.
Vorkosigan series
Ingenium et Fides - Cordelia and Aral talking about having more children and Miles showing them why they can't, and so many details that make this story really good.
How Bright is My Mud - A typical game between Miles and Ivan.
Wonderfalls
It's Not Brotherly Instinct - Just a short thing about Aaron and I'd have loved to have seen this in the series.
Discworld
Home for the Holidays - Such a sweet and realistic look at Death and his family at Hogswatch.
Most Interesting Day - This could be a snippet from one of the books with everyone being exactly in character.
Beginnings - Death trying to work out how to be a grandfather as only he can.
Susan Sto-Helit's Day Off - This is typical Susan, doing ordinary things but in an unusual way.
Blue Screen - Hex and Death! And a great existential conversation between Death and Ponder Stibbens.
Not A Cat Person - Granny Weatherwax and a kitten and headology and absolutely perfect.
But What About The Fire? - A lovely AU based on what Granny Weatherwax says to Mustrum Ridcully.
The Epistle of Cpt. Carrot Ironfoundersson - A letter from Carrot that's exactly how he writes in the books.
Blakes 7
Unexpected - A typical day with the crew with a great twist at the end.
The Way Forward - A PGP with such a great ending for Vila and Avon.
Ugly Betty
Five Times The Meade Brothers Lost an Argument with Their Father - Poor Alex(is) and Daniel, these are exactly what you come to expect from the Meade family.
Pushing Daisies
talent - Only very short but manages to get a lot of story in.
It's Provocative - The Narrator as a character! A great look at what he thinks about pies.
Something Fun - A sweet short of how Emerson started knitting.
Knit-Picking - A funny Emerson starting knitting story.
No Need for Plastic Wrap - Chuck, and how she wants to be touched.
Stitch in Time - Another Emerson starting knitting, this one another sweet one.
Popping a Question - Emerson and what he's really like and doesn't tell anyone.
Chrismukkah - Ned and Chuck being sweet.
Young Charlotte Asks Questions of the Bees - A lovely look at young Chuck.
Purls Before Pie - A scene straight out of an episode with an appropriately silly Emerson flashback.
Frolic and Play the Eskimo Way - A sweet Ned and Chuck story.
The Unassuming Adventures of the Kitting Detective - Emerson and his knitting and what everyone else does when they find out about it.
Twice Upon a Time - A great look at the Narrator and his role in the story, and how Ned and Chuck's lives might go.
Quantum Leap
Waiting - Sam at the start of a leap and how much Al means to him.
Trickle-Down Effect - A lovely look at Gooshie's point of view.
Drowning - Short but with a lot of story going on with Al.
Thinking Inside the Box - This could be an episode, it has just the right amount of Sam, Al, danger and the friendship between the two of them and how much they need each other.
The Problem, Exactly (May 14, 1984) - A great in-character conversation between Al and Ziggy from Ziggy's point of view.
Long Time - A look at the last leap and how it changed Al's life.
