Getting things done
Saturday 17th May 2008 9:52 pm
I am doing well on getting things done today. Even if I did start last night. So far today I have:
- Written my recs for
calufrax. I'm reccing at the start of June and I am determined to rec authors who haven't been recced before. But because they have three reccers a week with a maximum of seven recs each, there's rather a lot of authors that have been recced at least once. And you have to do a variety in that seven. I have just about managed it though - now I'm keeping my fingers crossed none of those authors get recced in the meantime.
- Written my recs for
crack_van. I'm up next for Doctor Who, which should be June unless they decide to take a month off. I'm doing authors who haven't been recced there too, although it was far easier to find twelve. So easy that I had trouble narrowing it down and could probably do another month's worth without too much trouble.
- Written my post for
who_otp's rare pairings month. I have Sarah/Will Sullivan on 3rd June, so now all I have to do for it is put the relevant icon back among my 15 and paste it in.
- Written most of my app for Harry Sullivan for
the_blank_slate. I entirely blame
chlorrel with whom I've played younger Harry a couple of times and enjoyed it so much I want to play him more (and older Harry too). I'm not actually going to put the app in until July, but most of the work is done. I just need to rewatch the first episode of Terror of the Zygons and work out what he might have in his pockets.
- Deleted some of my folders in Outlook Express. I don't have quite so many mailing lists any more, so I don't need as many. Now, when I have them all opened to see the subfolders, I can see them all without scrolling up and down!
- Added a few people and deleted lots of people and comms on my LJ friends list. My RSS Feeds list looks so much shorter and much better. I have comms in various folders to do with what they are, and people in two lists so I don't have to scroll within a folder. I have completely confused myself by moving some of them around.
- Went to Sainsbury's on the bus. The bus journey wasn't too bad, although was worse the faster it went. Walking around busy aisles looking around in a different direction to the one I'm walking in (because I'm less familiar with their layout) made me really dizzy, though. I didn't like the forty minute wait for the bus after I'd dawdled round the shop as much as I could, but it was nice not to have to drive.
Tomorrow I still need to do some Rotaract stuff (I always need to do Rotaract stuff, it's never-ending) and do some remix recs for
selenay936's site.
On the me front, I am still dizzy, but it's improving a lot. Work makes it worse though because I have to walk further and there are more things moving around that I can see. The dizziness pills the doctor prescribed turned out to have lactose in, but as it seemed to be getting better on its own, I couldn't be bothered to go back there and get another prescription which may or may not have lactose in.
This morning I had another letter from the hospital (two days after the first one) to say they'd moved my appointment from the morning of 13th June to the afternoon of 20th. So now I'm waiting to see if they change it again before I ask around for someone to pick me up afterwards (at least I can get there on the buses at that time of day).
