The physics of Doctor Who (SPOILERS)

Except lots of Wimbledon excitement after the Mixed Doubles tomorrow. In the meantime, I don't care who wins out of Federer and Nadal as long as it's a really good, close match. All the finals so far have been good (including the girls singles finals, who would have thought I'd have been watching that!).
Whereas last week's Doctor Who couldn't live up to the Wimbledon excitement, this week's did quite well (mind you, that could have had something to do with Virginia Wade, who didn't shut up even when I shouted at the TV). But, to tonight's Doctor Who, with SPOILERS:
OK, so I liked it. I loved the Daleks speaking German and I loved Donna wanting a hug from Jack. I thought there were too many characters so most of them didn't get anything to do. They didn't really need anyone apart from the Doctor and Donna. And I still couldn't stop laughing when Mr Smith spoke.
But, and it's a big, major but, the physics. Some of it I don't mind handwaving, but there was such a big problem with Turn Left and I was so hoping they were going to find a way to explain it, but no, they made it worse.
So, all the stars go out at the same time as seen from Earth. The closest star from Earth is 4 light years away. That means it takes light 4 years to get from there to here. So, if we saw it go out that would mean it actually went out thousands of years ago. So if the stars went out simultaneously, as seen from Earth, that must mean they went out at different times. Yet, that's not what happens. And I just can't accept that.
The other big, major problem is taking the Earth from its orbit. I can deal with life on Earth carrying on because we don't know how long it's for or what's nearby. But in the hole that's left, the satellites orbiting the Earth wouldn't have anything to orbit. Neither would the moon. And the rest of the solar system wouldn't be unaffected either.
Can someone please get the Doctor Who writers a scientific advisor to teach them GCSE physics?
Another thing I can't accept is the Daleks being scary because they're not. And I hate Davros. So this serial was never going to go down well. I really, really, really hope that they're really all dead now because then I'll have seen every Dalek episode and I'll never have to see one again. Which I'd be perfectly happy about.
