Lyta Alexander (Babylon 5)
It's been ages since I've seen Babylon 5 but she was the first character whose name begins with an L that came into my head. She was quite cool and I'd tell you why if I could remember.

Lyra Belacqua (His Dark Materials)
Let's ignore the ending of the third book, which I disliked, because apart from that Lyra basically saves the world. She's quite fearless and street wise and yet still only a child.

General Landry (Stargate)
He's not Hammond, but actually, he was alright. Watching Stargate: Continuum reminded me of that.

Legolas (Lord of the Rings)
I can't get that excited about Legolas - I prefer my elves from Rivendell. And I know it's nothing to do with him but I can't help associate him with living in a bad place with big spiders.

Leela (Doctor Who)
Leela kicked arse. I liked how she never quite got the whole manners thing and always was a bit of a savage. And handy with a knife.
