Last night’s SJA (with spoilers this time)

I enjoyed it. More specificness and SPOILERS if you haven't seen it behind the more:
The Last Sontaran
There were two bad things about Mr Smith this week. First that I know he's played by Alexander Armstrong, the second that he was making jokes. It made it very hard not to laugh, but I did manage it by the end of the episode. Whether that'll still last for the next one in two weeks time I don't know.
I loved Alan being really embarrassed about having to say, "Mr Smith, I need you," because you would, wouldn't you. I see he's still doing the silly music too. At first I found it odd that he wouldn't come out without those specific words, but I suppose it's sort of like a password and no one's going to guess that. But I did like Mr Smith's, "Oh, it's you Mr Jackson," as if he was hoping it was someone else.
It's silly really that Sarah leaves a key under the flowerpot and a window open, especially when she doesn't have K9 to guard the house. But it does sort of seem like her, though. As did her reaction to Maria saying she was leaving, when Sarah pushed her away because most of the people in her life have left.
But at the end she says Maria's "the daughter I always wanted". Which must be a usage of the word 'always' I haven't previously come across. Because that's not Sarah at all. Plus it's horribly trite and cliched and requires a sick bucket. I'm glad she's leaving, much as I like Maria & Alan & Chrissie, but I hate the way Sarah & Maria's relationship overshadows Sarah & Luke's. Except I have a feeling the new girl will just step right into Maria's shoes. We'll have to see.
Chrissie saved the world! How cool was that. And there's the first indication that Alan & Chrissie's breakup wasn't all one-sided, since they made it sound very much like Alan spent too much time at work providing for his wife and daughter and forgot that actually, spending some time with them might be beneficial. That, and saving the world, and pretending to forget about it has done Chrissie's character no end of good.
I still hate the 'Sontar-Ha' thing, it's just silly and makes the Sontarans a lot less scary. But I did like that Sarah's reaction on seeing Karg was the same as her reaction on seeing Styre. But who else was with her in that episode? No one they're going to mention obviously, but of course the Doctor gets a mention (OK, so I can't really complain giving that it ties into a DW episode, but I do wish they'd stop talking about him every episode as if he was the centre of the world and Harry didn't exist).
