There was something about near-death experiences, Sarah thought. Especially shared ones. After all, that was the only possible explanation for why she was lying naked, tangled round Josh as he slept in post-coital bliss.

Sleeping with her best friend, who had appointed himself her protector, even though she never asked him to, had not been on her plan. Not even when aforesaid best friend also happened to be very young and attractive and had somehow managed to fulfill all her fantasies. Dammit, she thought. There was no way she could let this this be a one-off thing.
