Sergeant Benton was, to anyone else's eyes, checking on Captain Yates. Getting shot was a serious matter but luckily the bullet had just grazed him and he was going to be fine.

He cared about Captain Yates's health, of course, but it was the doctor he was really here to see. What with one thing and another they had not seen each other for a week and he could not wait any longer.

He smiled as he watched him work. Harry hadn't seen him and so he was entirely unselfconscious about Benton's stare. Now he really couldn't wait for tonight.
