Spoilers: Although it does reference a comment by Mickey in Walk On My Grave (18th May), if you haven't seen it this won't spoil you for any events in that episode.
Summary: Sometimes having the boss as your friend isn't all that useful.

Mickey paced the floor of Jack's office, ending up by the door. "Look, Guv, I can't tell you, alright?"

"We're not at work now, Mickey." Jack, looking concerned, stepped forward so his desk wasn't between them.

"I know. I just..." He sighed. "Even if I tell you as a friend, you'll still have to act on it as the Superintendent."

"So-" Jack put his hands on his hips "-it's something at work?"

"Yeah, but I'll get it sorted."

"I'll hold you to that." Jack pointed a finger at him and when he turned away, Mickey took his chance to escape.

Summary: Jack and Mickey discuss the day's events in the pub.

"Guv'nor." Mickey put two pints of beer on the table, then sat down and sipped his.

"Thanks, Mickey." Jack drank several mouthfuls. "I needed that."

Mickey tried to hide his grin and failed.

"You think it's funny, me getting a bollocking?" Jack's voice was stern, but Mickey knew him well enough to know he wasn't really upset.

"Makes a change. It's usually you dishing them out."

"It wouldn't be, if you did what you were told more often."

Mickey grinned and shrugged. He wasn't going to change and he knew Jack was just as happy with that as he was.

Summary: Who is Nick Klein?

Sometimes he wonders who Nick Klein is; whether he really existed or if he's just a dream.

Sometimes, he hears "Nick" and turns round, only to find they're not asking for him, and that's not his name any more.

Sometimes he wonders if he did the right thing: if he'd kept quiet he could have kept his old life, but really he knows right from wrong and he wants justice to be served.

So he carries on, through this new life of his, trying to fully appreciate the second chance he's been given, and trying not to muck it up.
