What I Just Finished Reading
The Autobiography of Mr. Spock by Una McCormack
I was a bit unsure about this one because Spock is my favourite character. But I knew I could trust Una and I was right. I knew a lot of it, although it turns out I've blocked a lot of things involving Michael Burnham from my mind and I was quite confused about some of it. I enjoyed it and I want Strange New Worlds to be on now.

A Guernsey Girl at the Chalet School by Amy Fletcher
Pretty standard Chalet School stuff really. Which is what I read these books for, so that's ok.

Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman
This was Kobo's 99p book of the day when I logged in to add something to my wishlist. I bought it because when I went to Edinburgh I felt really ill on the train home and could only cope if I had my eyes closed and was listening to a podcast (although strangely I was fine when we stopped at stations). The friend I was with was reading this book. I was intrigued by the title and she said it was good. And it was. It's one of those books that are hard to summarise because there are a lot of secrets and they come out gradually, thus changing things. But I enjoyed it so much I still have a book hangover from it.

What I'm Currently Reading
Birds of Passage by Robert Mammone
I pre-ordered this last year and when it turned up I was completely confused until I saw that it was a Counter Measures book. But not the same as the Big Finish series. There's nothing alien going on, as far as I can tell, and although there are references to the Shoreditch Incident and UNIT, there's no mention of ICMG. Also Gilmore and Rachel are married in it. I ship them, but it turns out I'm more into the idea of them having occasional dinners rather than being married.

Rutherford and Fry’s Complete Guide to Absolutely Everything (Abridged) by Adam Rutherford and Hannah Fry
I am really enjoying this, but making slow progress on it because it requires a brain to read. It's in a similar style to the podcast and although a lot of it I know, there's always more detail that I've forgotten or didn't know. And it's marrying up all the sciences, it's not just a physics book. Obviously, but physics books are what I'm more used to reading when it comes to science.

What I'm Reading Next
I'm quite enjoying reading a fiction and non-fiction book at the same time and switching between them, depending on which I feel like at the time. So I may do some more of that. Kobo had a Boxing Day sale with more comedian's books, so I have plenty of non-fiction to choose from, and a crate of mostly fiction to read. So it'll be whichever ones I feel like reading next (or my library hold, once that comes in - I can't remember what it is, but I know it's a comedian's book).
