"And of course I er..." The Doctor trailed off as they turned the corner and they found the corridor in front of them stretched into infinity. Literally.

It should have led to the library. "Is that an optical illusion?" Barbara wondered.

"I don't know." He frowned into the distance for a moment before pulling a small pebble out of a pocket and throwing it.

They heard it clattering down the corridor for longer than it possibly could have.

When it finally stopped two people became visible in the distance. And then two people a little closer and again and again, until there was a pair of them every step along the corridor before them. Those two people were the two of them.

Barbara looked behind to see they were there too. And the corner they'd turned was no longer visible. She fought back a bite of fear that they'd be trapped here forever.

The Doctor's, however, nodded sagely. "Time," he said, as if that explained everything. "Time has leaked into this corridor, affecting the dimensions."

It sounded strange, but no more so than everything else. "What do we do?"

"We walk. Just as our past selves did and future selves will."

"Are you sure?" Although it wasn't as if she had any better ideas.

"Trust me," he said.

So she did.

One by one, the pair in front of them became the pair behind them. Until the only thing in front of them was a pebble.

The corridor continued, she thought, but the view ahead was hazy and she couldn't be sure. But there was a branch off to the right. Which they took and they found themselves in the library. Which looked normal.

"Aren't I always right?" he said with a grin.

She said nothing, but rolled her eyes.
